Marine Monitoring
AdelaideAqua has the contract to design, construct and operate the Adelaide Desalination Plant and associated marine works. Prior to operation of the plant testing and commissioning will be undertaken.
As part of the license issued by the South Australian Environment Protection Authority (EPA), certain salinity levels must be achieved in the coastal waters off Port Stanvac, near the plant.
During the testing and commissioning phase, AdelaideAqua will monitor the marine environment near Port Stanvac, monitoring will also continue after the plant becomes operational.
AdelaideAqua have undertaken salinity monitoring of the marine environment since July 2010. The salinity monitoring results for the testing and commissioning phase, along with the earlier data, are available for download here.
